PM: Peace Comes Before Human Rights

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated the benefits of peace for the development of the motherland, saying that peace must come first before anything else.

Speaking at the celebration of the 10 + 1 Year Anniversary of Japanese company Minebea’s operations in Cambodia on Thursday, 1 December 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that in order to ensure the development of Cambodia, peace, and infrastructure must be first ensured, in both 'hard' and 'soft' forms.

The Prime Minister added that it is this foundation of peace that has allowed Cambodia to be peaceful until today and achieve the establishment of other important factors such as human rights.

"Do not [wait] to lose peace [to] shout for peace," he said.
